A New Chapter in Hanno’s Healing Journey

Dear friends, family, and supporters,

We write this update with full hearts and overwhelming gratitude. After walking a long and often difficult road with Dystonia, we are filled with hope as we share some incredible news. The Lord has graciously opened the door for Hanno to take another major step forward in his healing journey.

As many of you know, in 2022 Hanno travelled to South Korea to receive treatment from Dr. Lee at the YJ Care Clinic. That experience marked a turning point — not only in his physical condition but in our outlook on what’s possible. The care and results we witnessed planted a deep hope in our hearts to one day return for further treatment. We’ve clung to that hope, trusting that in God’s timing, the way would be made.

And now, with deep reverence and excitement, we can say: It’s happening. In September and October of this year, we will be returning to South Korea for a second, extended round of treatments.

What makes this all the more extraordinary is how this opportunity came to be. Three months ago, Dr. Lee opened a global competition for Dystonia patients, offering two individuals the chance to receive 50 fully sponsored treatment sessions – a gift valued at approximately R160,000. To enter, Hanno submitted a deeply personal essay about his journey with Dystonia and how Dr. Lee’s approach has brought hope and healing. Alongside his written submission, he sent video footage showing the daily realities he faces and how the treatments impacted him.

We are humbled to share that Dr. Lee selected Hanno as one of the recipients. Out of the many deserving entries from across the world, Hanno was chosen to receive this incredible gift of 50 sponsored sessions.

We stand amazed. Once again, God has gone before us, preparing a path that only He could open. As John 1:16 so beautifully declares, “From His fullness we have all received grace upon grace — blessing upon blessing, favor upon favor, and gift heaped upon gift.”

This is more than a trip — it is a testimony of God’s faithfulness, your ongoing prayers, and the kindness of people near and far who believe in Hanno’s healing.

But our vision doesn’t stop here. While the 50 sessions are a tremendous gift, we want to make the absolute most of this opportunity. We’re trusting for the provision to purchase an additional 50 sessions — bringing the total to 100 sessions during our time in Korea. These treatments are intense, physically demanding, and emotionally stretching — but they are also life-giving. We believe that with this next phase, we’ll see even greater fruit in Hanno’s journey — more strength, more movement, more hope restored.

We’ve seen what your love can do. The response during our previous fundraising journey was overwhelming. Every prayer, every message, every donation made it possible for us to walk through that first open door. Without you, we wouldn’t be where we are today.

And so, we come to you again — humbled, hopeful, and deeply expectant — asking you to walk this next stretch with us. Whether it’s through prayer, sharing our story, or contributing financially, every bit matters. We are trusting for the funds to cover the additional 50 sessions, flights, and basic accommodation and living costs while in Korea.
