I hope that I can put an end to Mr. Hanno’s arduous journey toward full recovery…

Mr. Hanno visited my clinic with his wife from South Africa on August 30, 2022. He said he researched me and my clinic for over a year and he also purchased my book about dystonia before making the decision to visit me. He said he also looked through the materials I posted on my Facebook page “Dystonia Center” and watched most of my videos on YouTube. I would like to present to you Mr. Hanno’s treatment case and I’d like to give a round of applause for his tenacity, passion, and courage.

Hanno returned to his country last Saturday (Nov. 5) with his wife after a nine-week treatment period. He is the first patient to return after receiving the most treatment sessions in the shortest period of time. He managed to take 170 sessions of treatment in just 9 weeks.

It takes enormous patience and a strong spirit to handle as many treatment sessions in a short period of time as Hanno did. It takes extreme patience, strong will, and ceaseless efforts to endure the painful treatment process. And most people cannot even think of handling it. But Hanno overcame it. As a result, he was able to recover from dystonia by more than 60%, including the dystonia in his legs, from which he had suffered for 19 years.

He has been suffering from severe dystonia in both legs for a long time, and because of that, his sacroiliac joints were fixed, which led to a gait disorder due to abnormalities in the pelvis and his limbs. Therefore, he could only walk short distances for about 10 minutes. In addition to this, he also had dystonia in his mouth (mouth tension) and in his left arm. His right leg had normal development, but his left leg was much thinner and shorter due to structural imbalances in his lumbar spine, pelvis, and sacroiliac joint. Furthermore, he suffered from contractions, cramps, and pain caused by abnormal tension in his leg muscles day and night. He also had mild dystonia in his eyes and face, and his lower jaw was slightly twisted to the left due to mild jaw asymmetry and malocclusion. His X-ray findings also showed upper cervical subluxation, severe scoliosis, cervical spine tilt, and lumbar and pelvic twists. He complained of more than 40 chronic TMJ syndrome symptoms, including hand numbness, back pain, and (teeth) clenching habits.

But he has already had many positive physical changes. The foot pronation due to a twisted lower body and gait have improved a lot (more than 60% in his words). He was only able to walk for about 10 minutes before the treatment, but now the ability to walk increased to more than 70 to 80 minutes. In addition, the head was tilted to one side and the jaw was slightly twisted but according to the X-ray results in standing upright posture, the head was straight, the jaw was symmetrical, and returned to normal. The length of the legs, which used to be severely asymmetric, is now noticeably similar. He said he was satisfied with improvements, as oral tension, teeth clenching habit, numbness, and cramps in the hands almost disappeared and improved the most. He reported that the pain in the shoulders, arms, and knees due to dystonia, including limb contractions, has also recovered by more than half. During the last interview, Mr. Hanno reported at least 60% recovery in most of his symptoms.

In the initial consultation, Mr. Hanno said he’s been suffering from dystonia in his limbs since 2004, when he was 10, and had been in a wheelchair for 13 years. He underwent a brain deep stimulation surgery (DBS) to implant a sensor that sends electrical signals to his brain in 2009 at the age of 15, but the surgery was not very helpful to him, so he visited my clinic. However, through a short nine-week treatment, he reported his overall recovery by more than 60%, although he has not yet been fully healed. He is required to visit the clinic several times in the future to recover from the remaining symptoms.

Recently, I read 'Hanno's story of hope and perseverance which he shared and posted in his treatment review on my 'Facebook Dystonia Center' a week before the end of the treatment. (You can read more about it here: https://hopeforhanno.com.)

I was so heartbroken reading his life story, the hardship he went through up until he came to visit me… On the other hand, I admired his strength because he overcame all the difficulties and is now an expert in the IT sector. As I read his story, I had a flashback of “my journey to finding treatment for incurable diseases”, which has been going on for more than 30 years. I hope that his journey to cure his disease will come to an end with the treatment he receives from me. And I hope Hanno and his wife arrived home safe and sound.

Thank you, Hanno, for the message you sent me on WhatsApp when you were at Incheon Airport. “Thank you, Dr. Lee, for everything. You have truly changed my life; I will be forever grateful.” Receiving this message from you made me happy and taking your message as a comfort, I will do my best to treat & guide more patients with intractable diseases.

You have overcome the difficult treatment process, the strenuous exercises, and the training for recovery. You are a great man. You deserve to make full recovery and good luck in that journey. Once again, thank you for visiting me.
