Finding Our Feet

Friendly greetings to you all from a rainy and humid South Korea! For the past 3 days, we have been in and out of our Hotel room to orientate ourselves, settle in and consult with Dr. Lee. Public transport and basic communication have been a challenge up until now, but we are slowly getting used to the NEW.

The consultation with Dr. Lee on Tuesday went very well! He is positive that the therapy will have a great impact on Hanno's body. Hanno will receive a combination of treatments to restore his distorted C2 vertebra. These treatments range from wearing sophisticated intraoral devices (special gum guards) to chiropractic therapy to powerwalking and daily exercises. Hanno has 3 x 2-hour sessions a day and has to powerwalk at least an hour a day in between all the sessions. The therapy is painful and exhausting, even just after 2 days, but God gives us His strength (Philippians 4:13) and we hold on to our Hope, Jesus Christ, and His promises over our lives (Philippians 3:14).

Tomorrow we move into our cozy Airbnb apartment which is within walking distance of the clinic. We will be able to cook our own food in the apartment, starting with LEKKER eggs and bacon breakfast! We've had a little taste of Korean cuisine. Some favorites so far have been kimchi Kimbap (similar to Japanese Maki rolls), Hotteok (a flat vetkoek with sweet filling), and ah-ah, which is an Iced Americano.
