Dear friends and family,

We are excited to report back on the improvements that we've seen from the treatment so far.

Hanno went for X-Rays last week and after consulting with Dr. Lee, the main focus of the treatment is to realign his distorted spine and pelvis. The major keys to help with this realignment are the right posture, doing the right exercises and powerwalking.

Hanno does the same exercises and treatments every day, so we can monitor how his body's response changes. The first week it was difficult for him to finish 2min of the gravity exercises, but this week he did 3min well!

His posture is much better and the way he walks is more upright. The Doctor encourages him to powerwalk at least 1 hour per day, which is a tall ask, but he is becoming fitter every day.

We are thankful for all the small improvements! Hanno is still in pain and the treatment process is very difficult and exhausting, but we hold on to the hope that things will get better! (Romans 5:3-5)

We have settled in by now, and are used to the different foods, but we miss our country and Hanno especially misses tjoppies! Our staple foods here are Kimbap, noodles and burgers! Dr. Lee treated us to a traditional Korean meal, Bibimbap, which was very healthy and tasty.

This weekend is the Korean thanksgiving holiday. We are thankful for the opportunity to be here in Korea, for all of you following our journey and for every change that we have seen! Thank you for all your prayers and love.

Blessings,

Hanno & Ingemari Burger

But that’s not all! Even in times of trouble we have a joyful confidence, knowing that our pressures will develop in us patient endurance. And patient endurance will refine our character, and proven character leads us back to hope. And this hope is not a disappointing fantasy, because we can now experience the endless love of God cascading into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who lives in us!

Romans 5:3-5

Hi Hanno,

Phil here. I am a friend of your parents and am following your journey with great interest. I think that to evolve from "human beings" to "human doings", we need to learn to be more comfortable with paradox. In your instance, I sincerely believe that the paradox in your journey is that "from pain, immense good and an amazing legacy will emerge". You have the character and you will do it!

Best regards,

Phil.
