Dear friends and family,
We greet you from a sunny and hot Cheonan-si, South Korea. First of all, we want to thank every one of you for thinking of us and keeping us in your prayers. The treatment is tough, and we miss our home, but we are always comforted to know that there are so many of you supporting us and cheering us on!
Since the last update we released, Hanno’s capacity has grown greatly! Even though he’s still in a lot of pain and exhausted at the end of the day, the gravity exercises he must do daily have improved from 3min a side to 15min on each side! That is huge in terms of the growth of his capacity! He still receives cupping and acupuncture daily for blood circulation and the doctor has added a certain stretch to do to improve his posture. Hanno’s posture has improved greatly, which shows in his way of walking.
We traveled to Busan on the Korean long weekend of the 11th of September for our wedding anniversary and enjoyed the change of a new environment very much! Busan is a beautiful and vibrant city! Since then, we’ve spent our weekends resting in our Airbnb flat and going out for walks. Resting is so important for Hanno to be ready for the week lying ahead!
Now, we are halfway through this process. We are grateful that Christ empowers us. We are grateful that we have His faith and strength. We are grateful to have a community that lifts us up in prayer and has faith with us that breakthrough is here! Be encouraged to know that in our weakness He is strong!
Three times I pleaded with the Lord to relieve me of this. But he answered me, “My grace is always more than enough for you, and my power finds its full expression through your weakness.” So I will celebrate my weaknesses, for when I’m weak I sense more deeply the mighty power of Christ living in me. 2 Corinthians 12:8-9
Blessings,
